Can you help uncover the forgotten history of local soldiers?

Have you seen the fantastic local history project taking place on our doorstep? Just on the edge of Earlsfield, Summerstown hosts a war memorial in St Mary's Church inscribed with the names of 182 men who died in the First World War.

Local man Geoff Simmons has joined forces with Reverend Dr Roger Ryan, vicar of St Mary's Summerstown, to find out what happened the men. Of the 182 men they've successfully traced 164, leaving 18 unidentified. Read the story of one man, the Huntspill Hero, recently traced by the project.

Summerstown 182 is gaining momentum with local media coverage and a planned guided walk to share more about the project. But to complete the project and find out what happened to all the men, they need your help.

Visit the project website to read the roll of honour or see a map of where the men came from and see if there's anything you can share. And watch the site for details of the guided walk planned for April!
